People think they need luck on the day to pass their tests. But I believe that whether you pass is almost entirely down to how your instructor has prepared you. If they show enough attention to detail and prepare you for all eventualities, then it doesn’t matter where the examiner takes you or what traffic you meet on the way.

My test pass rate is now very high, over 90%, but I’m still constantly trying to improve the way I teach so that pupils go into the test feeling confident and knowing nothing is left to chance. This is why almost all of my pupils pass first time and is also the best way to save them money in the long run!

One of my favourite parts of the job is helping pupils who have become demoralised by previous instructor experiences or failed tests and have begun to doubt that they are capable of getting their licence. It is very fulfilling to help these pupils to make real progress and enjoy driving again, then pass their tests at the first attempt with me.
